California state officials have proposed a fine of $3.4m against the company Amplify Energy Corp for a 2021 oil pipeline leak in Kern County. The leak was reported on June 2021, and the pipeline had spilled nearly 25k gallons of oil. The proposed fine includes $2.7m for state law violations, $500k for response costs, and $200k for restoration projects.
