The German government has launched a public consultation on energy procurement frameworks, including 500MW of Long-Duration Energy Storage (LDES) and 12.5GW of New Power Plants under the Kraftwerkssicherheitsgesetz. The consultation, open for six weeks, aims to address energy gaps from renewable sources and establish a reliable investment framework ahead of a new capacity market starting in 2028.
