China has launched its first hydrogen powered container ship in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province. The zero emission vessel is capable of sailing 380 km, carrying 64 containers and aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 700 tons annually. Powered by two 240 kW hydrogen fuel cell systems it will begin operations in 2025 creating the nation's first hydrogen powered inland transport route.
